Sometimes we seek help from secular
sources when our real problem is a sick spirit. When that is the case,
we need the prescription that directs us to the Source of spiritual healing.
In this sketch, a man has difficulty believing that such a simple prescription
can really help him. This script helps viewers to think about the kind
of help that only God can give.

LEGO PEOPLE
This touching
reader’s theater examines the effect of divorce on children: “They
said they were getting a divorce … I remember seeing my Lego set
in the
corner of the room … I remember thinking, "I wish I was a Lego
person — they’re made to come apart.” This piece is a good
way to open a discussion on divorce and the healing process, for both
parents and children.

humor, this script explores a variety of methods often employed in the midst

This script can be performed easily by two actors
(with one playing seven parts), or by a cast of eight. In this sketch
we meet Joe, a new Christian. He is confronted by a barrage of well-meaning
Christians who each have their own take on what Joe has to do to "really"
be a Christian. This humorous sketch gets the audience laughing while
making an important point..

THE BELLS
Inspired by the folk tale When the Chimes Rang. A young boy and his sister
travel to town to make a humble Christmas offering. After an encounter
with a sick woman, the young boy goes to town alone. Everyone in church
is hoping that the chimes will ring, and many elaborate gifts are given.
But it is the offering of the young boy and his sister that ultimately
makes the chimes ring.

TOUCHED BY AN ALIEN
We live in an age where many people
are spiritual seekers, but often they are not looking toward the church
for answers. As a consequence of people's eagerness to believe, all sorts
of odd things are being accepted, everything from mind reading to ESP
to crystals to UFOs. This sketch provides an opportunity to think about
where the truth really lies.

TALE OF TWO FRIENDS
Two
of Jesus’ closest friends talk about the night of Jesus’ arrest.
By the end of the night, both men will realize that their acts of betrayal
are the cause of Jesus’ death.

Mary recounts the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion and finds comfort in knowing that she will see her son again.

his encounter with Christ, and tries to come to grips with Jesus dying

WHY ME?
Simon
gives an eyewitness account of Jesus' final walk to the cross. What troubles
Simon is the irony of his own rage at the Romans for how they treated
Jesus, juxtaposed with Jesus' own love and forgiveness of those very tormentors.

THE CHECK'S TAKEN CARE OF
In this series
of vignettes, we meet four couples, all having dinner at a nice restaurant.
Each couple is unable to pay for the meal, and each, in turn, is surprised
to hear from the waiter that an anonymous benefactor wants to take care
of the check. Each couple, that is, except Ralph and Virginia, who have
come to "rely upon the kindness of strangers. "There are many lessons
to learn from the various couples' reactions to this outlandish offer.

In this lighthearted
sketch, we meet Rax and Gabe, two of heavens' finest. Gabe is thrilled
to be making his annual hike -in human form -to the place where Jesus'
resurrection happened. Rax has never been out of heaven and isn't so sure
about this whole "body" thing. Through their antics, we gain an appreciation
for the celebration of the angels in heaven.
